Gridiron NSW Week 2: Raiders and Gators stay unbeaten

UNSW Raiders and UTS Gators both remain unbeaten after Week 2 of the 2026 Gridiron NSW men’s season.

The defending champion Raiders moved to 2–0 with a 20–9 win over Sydney University, overcoming a 9–6 deficit entering the fourth quarter. UNSW was without quarterback Ben Finkel, who was rested through illness, and shifted to an option-heavy attack that produced 380 rushing yards. The Raiders scored 14 unanswered points in the final quarter to close out the win.

The result follows UNSW’s 34–0 Week 1 win over Wollongong, giving the Raiders a 54–9 scoring differential through their opening two games.

UTS also improved to 2–0, defeating the Northern Sydney Rebels 22–7. UTS opened the season with a 26–6 win over Nepean and has now outscored its first two opponents 48–13.
